The New Year
It came quietly while I did routine things like clean the house and make dinner and go to the movies. By the time my husband and I returned from the movies, the ball was dropping in times square on my television and I listened as Regis lost count and rang in the new year before reaching one on his countdown.
Now that the new year is hear, I have given serious thought to what I want to accomplish, and foremost on my list has been getting into a master’s program, which is why I bought a GRE prep book. So, wish me luck on that. I suppose the next goal will be to get into a program and then afford it. LOL We’ll see how well that goes.
Next on the list is learning to drive, yes you heard it here first. I am a 28 year old non-driver who used to tell herself it was for environmental reasons that I didn’t drive, but the actuality is that I HATE it and am terrified of these drivers who appear to have no care in the world for themselves or their fellow man.

You can do it Serena (on both counts!) I totally agree that the master’s thing is tough and I keep trying to motivate to do the GRE prep as well, but have been beyond lazy about it! I still have not downloaded the prep material I swore I would months ago! As for driving, there are a lot of crazy drivers out there and even good drivers (I like to think I’m one) can do asshole things at times, but even though my commute can be long, I love the freedom of just getting on the highway and going and knowing I can go somewhere when I need to. I think you’ll love it to, just give yourself time to get there. Like most things in life, practice makes perfect. Take baby steps. Joyelle did it and I know you can too.
